New stories about life in Battery Point
We have added new stories on the Association website about life in Battery Point, including one on the historic Fisheries Research Centre at the bottom of Napoleon Street.
Heritage-listed, its role in the history of Tasmania’s now booming aquaculture industry is not well known. We are grateful that local artist Jock Young allowed us to include extracts from his paintings of the building.
There is also a fascinating story about life in Battery Point in the 1970s drawn from an out of print book by Hillary Webster.
If you have a story you would like to contribute to the website, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you in the process.
