We are delighted to announce the publication of In Bobby’s Footsteps, a stunning new web resource that takes you on a self-guided history walk around the land that was granted to the Reverend Robert (Bobby) Knopwood in 1805.

In Bobby’s Footsteps is an initiative of the Battery Point Community Association and was funded by the Tasmanian Community Fund with support from the Hobart City Council. The website content, which incorporates text, images and audio interviews, was developed by historians Annie Rushton and Robert Vincent. It includes some delightful artwork by students from Albuera Street School.

The history walk takes you on a journey behind the scenes to discover how people have lived from the time of colonial settlement to the present day. The walk will incorporate street signs and QR codes to enable you to access fascinating information about the residents, buildings and industries in Battery Point over time.

The website will be officially launched in September by the Lord Mayor of Hobart. We will keep you informed of further developments, but watch for the street signs marking the walk that will be put in place in the next few weeks.
