It is with immense sadness that we report that Peter Jones, the Vice President of the Battery Point Community Association, died on Sunday 22nd December 2024. Peter’s health had been in decline for some time.

Peter made a significant contribution to both the Association as a member of the Executive and the wider Battery Point community. Many will remember Peter, large as life, barbecuing sausages at the Association’s Christmas party last month. This was after a three-day visit to watch test cricket in Adelaide with his brother-in-law, young nephews and a dear friend.

Peter Jones was a wonderful man who was characterised by humour, decency and a “can-do” attitude. He will be greatly missed by those who had the good fortune to know him. Our deepest sympathies go to Marilyn, his wife. Both Peter and Marilyn are legends of Battery Point.
