The winning entry by Cameron Nichols
On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March, photographs in the 2024 Battery Point Community Association Photographic Competition were on display in the Community Hall. The exhibition was well attended on both days and entries were judged by people’s choice.
Eighty photographs were submitted addressing the theme Food for Thought. The entries expressed the theme in many different ways, ranging from whimsical to the deeply thoughtful.
The overall winners were presented their prizes at a ceremony on Sunday afternoon. The winners were:
1st prize – Cameron Nichols
2nd prize – Michael Lees
3rd prize – Fiona Inch
Honourable Mention – Rundi Larsen and the Reid Family
Overall, the event made $251.50 to support renovations to the kitchen area.
Thanks go to Gay and Len Spaans, Pam Powell and Charles Morgan who managed the competition, and to Andrew Edwards and Jenny Morgan for their valuable assistance.
Special thanks go to Marylouise Brammer who once again designed a beautiful poster to promote the competition. We look forward to the 2025 competition and welcome ideas for a possible theme from community members.
