On a cool September Sunday afternoon, 70 people enjoyed the Association’s inaugural High Tea in the Community Hall.

The event was organised with meticulous attention to detail by the Association’s Social Events Committee, including Jenny Cranston, Marilyn Jones, Marylou Brammer, Pam Powell, Sarah Oxbrough and Carol Mackel. Committee members Peter Jones and Neil Cranston served the drinks, and Charles Morgan welcomed guests.

Guests enjoyed champagne, wine, punch, coffee and tea as well as lively conversation.

Anne Reed prepared a delicious collection of sandwiches and savoury treats, while Marilyn and Peter Jones provided a mouth-watering assortment of sweet delights.

The Hall was festooned with flowers provided by local resident Jenny Willie and Gay Flowers business owner Alex Johnstone.

The high attendance at this delightful event indicated once again that, as a community, we deeply value social interaction with our friends and neighbours. It was wonderful to welcome new members at the event where the ages ranged from four months to 91 years!

The popularity of the High Tea suggests that this is likely to be first of many hosted by the Association.
