Community meeting – Street tree planting

This session will take place on Thursday 28 February from 5.30 – 6.30 pm in the Community Hall.

Jerry de Gryse, author of the City of Hobart’s Street Tree Strategy, will discuss the contributions that street trees make to our environment, our economy and our social systems through their contributions to an expanded urban forest. Using the current situation in the City as a starting point, Jerry will make the case for a wide-ranging program of street tree planting in the hopes of achieving Hobart’s vision to be a city of tree-lined streets.

Ruby Wilson, Program Leader of Arboriculture and Nursery Manager for the HCC, will provide an update on the Street Tree Strategy in Hobart and provide details of preliminary results of the program.
