On 12 December 2021, the Battery Point Community Association held its annual Christmas party. We were unable to have a party in 2020 due to COVID-19, so this year’s event was eagerly anticipated by all. It was a beautiful afternoon with a big crowd and an abundance of fine food, refreshing drinks and Christmas cheer.
The party provided evidence of the community’s diversity and it was wonderful to see several new members and lots of children in attendance.
We would like to thank members of the Social Committee who organised the party to their usual high standard – Jenny Cranston, Marilyn Jones, Eve Morris, Carol Mackel and Marylouise Brammer. We are also grateful to the Hobart City Council for providing us with a grant to support the event.
The Christmas Party enabled us to understand yet again that Battery Point is a delightful place to live and that we value social interaction with our friends and neighbours. We look forward to many more events of this nature in the future.
