In 2021, the Community Association commenced a project to celebrate the rich architectural heritage of Battery Point.
Property owners have volunteered to add information plaques to buildings and places of historical interest around the community. Some summarise the history of a site, others the fascinating stories of the people who lived and worked there.
The website has a special page that showcases the plaques. On that page, click on the tiles to see the individual plaques. Some also have more information, additional photographs, both contemporary and historical, and links to wonderful stories and insights on the places and people celebrated by the plaques.
The Battery Point Community Association gratefully acknowledge the support of the Hobart City Council with this project.
